looking forward to summer

what a horrid wet and windy day to start the first day back at work for 2012. But at team pixie
we are always working couple of seasons ahead, while its pouring down with rain outside and the dog is sat under the desk as close to the heater as possible . we are ordering beautiful summer party decorations with a classic vintage feel. no tinsel here just paper and class.
My favorite and best seller is the sunflowers and daisy paper fans they are over 50cm across and brighten up any party .

2011 favourite product

Posted in Uncategorized on January 1, 2012 by teampixie

As we said good bye 2011 and reflected on the year , I was thinking what was the best new product of the year, I asked Mr pixie and he thought our range of children’s 1940′s costumes where his favourite new product. We sat and discussed this question for a long while, I liked all the new silicone products from mould life and then we thought that we only added grimas to the range in 2011 so the list started to get out of hand and no final winner was decided.
After seeing the new year in we made for bed, the dog was under the bed hiding from the fireworks and I picked my tub of crowes’s cremine to remove my make up . It was then I decided crowe’s cremine is the best new product for 2011.
It’s a amazing make up remover that also moisturises it’s made such a difference to my skin and just seems to melt the make up from your face, crowe’s creamine been around over 75 years and it was a old actor that asked me to source the product for him, and we have been stocking a selling it ever since,So give it a try yourself it’s also very good for dry skin.
Happy new year

santa’s elves

Posted in Uncategorized on November 29, 2011 by teampixie

With christmas fast approaching santa’s elves must be hard at work. At teampxie we have been wrapping up elves shoes and elves tights and the topic of conversation today has been elves and their names and what where santa’s elves called.

we had to google it in the end and this is what we found out .

1. Alabaster Snowball – Administrator of the Naughty & Nice list.

2. Bushy Evergreen – Inventor of the magic toy-making machine.

3. Pepper Minstix – Guardian of the secret of where Father Christmas’s village is located.

4. Shinny Upatree – The oldest friend of Santa and the cofounder of the secret village in Lapland.

5. Sugarplum Mary – Head of the Sweat Treats, she is also known as Mary Christmas. She is an assistant to Mrs Claus and helps her in the kitchen.

6. Wunorse Openslae – Designer of Father Christmas’s sleigh and responsible for its maintenance. He also looks after the reindeers and it is believed that his reindeers reach speeds faster than Christmas tree lights.

On 6th of January or the last day of Christmas, it is believed that the elves light up their torches and come down from their secret village in the mountain to play in a secret field and celebrate the successful completion of their Christmas project.

Rigid Collodion

Posted in face paint, halloween, halloween make, Kryolan, rigid collodion on September 27, 2011 by teampixie

Rigid Collodion also called “Scarring Liquid”, and widely used in theatrical makeup special effects to simulate shapes of wounds and scars.
It’s particularly popular for The Joker cheek scars.
It works by wrinkling the skin as it dries, leaving a puked  area very similar to healed scars. It’s usually applied with a brush in multiple coatings, each layer reinforcing the effect by deepening the scar.
Rigid Collodion it’s extremely flammable and contact with the eyes should be avoided . It should be stored in a cool place, out of reach from children and used in a well ventilated room/
Before application it must be tested on a small spot of skin to check for allergic reactions
Rigid Collodion is available in two brands, Mehron and Kryolan<br />
How To remove Rigid Collodion
should peel off easily after one day, taking with him the top layer of dead skin
It’s not recommended to use the Scarring Liquid several times in a row on the same area, as it will come off with living skin and slightly damage it.
The more substance you have applied, the more difficult removal will be.
The special remover isn’t really needed as spirit gum remover should do the job.
If you leave your scar on for more than one day, expect your skin to keep a mark for a couple of days afterwards.
